For those watching the promotional events for Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte this week, you will have definitely seen Fury's American trainer, SugarHill Steward. The former Detroit police officer and chef has been training the 'Gypsy King' since he parted ways with Ben Davison back in December 2019.
He has coached Fury to winning the WBC and The Ring titles, beating Deontay Wilder in their first fight together back in February 2020 before repeating the feat in October 2021. This, however, is the first time that the two will have worked together on a UK fight, with all three of Fury's fights with Wilder taking place in the US.
Steward has been working with Fury and the rest of his team in Morecambe, Lancashire and the two appear to have created a strong bond together. Fury even requested a chair be pulled up to the table so that Steward could participate in Wednesday's press conference.

He is the nephew of International Boxing Hall of Fame trainer Emanuel Steward, who worked out of the iconic Kronk Gym, which is where SugarHill and Fury met in 2010. The name SugarHill is a tribute to his uncle who died in 2012 - he was known as Javan 'Sugar' Hill until 2019, before the change.
Having previously worked alongside fighters such as Charles Martin at his uncle's gym, Fury clearly liked the work that the Steward was doing with heavyweights and chose to work with the trainer after splitting with Davison. Steward is an interesting character who has worked as both a chef and a police officer before following his uncle to train boxers full time.
His work with Fury has been excellent and will culminate in this Saturday's blockbuster
