Bad Bunny is taking to the famous steps as this year's Met Gala co-host, alongside Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth.
The international superstar, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is no stranger to presenting gigs having hosted Saturday Night Live, among sell-out music gigs and A-list romances.
The Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and record producer, 30, is known as the 'King of Latin Trap' having shot to fame from the Latin charts into the mainstream from 2016 onwards.
This followed a series of successes collaborations with artists such as J Balvin, Ozuna, Farruko, El Alfa, Arcángel, and Daddy Yankee. He has also made guest appearances on songs by the likes of Drake, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Will Smith.
The rapper became the first "non-English-language" act in Spotify's most streamed artist of the year, leading the way from 2020 to 2022.
Bad Bunny also holds the second-biggest streaming year of any artist in Spotify history, having secured over a whopping 18.5 billion streams in 2022. He has released five studio albums, which are: X 100pre (2018), YHLQMDLG (2020), El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (2020), Un Verano Sin Ti (2022), and Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana (2023).
In November 2023, he was listed just below Taylor Swift on Spotify's top 10 global artists list. And it seems his love for creating music has been at the heart of his passion from a young age.
Until the age of 13, Bad Bunny sang in his church's choir and when he was 14 years old started releasing his own songs on SoundCloud. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Bad Bunny described himself as a wallflower but said he had a reputation at school for creating raps.
