Eurovision weekend is finally upon us – and (for the first time in a fair few years!) it seems as though the UK actually have an entry worth getting excited about. TikTok star Sam Ryder will be representing in the annual Song Contest, which is taking place in Turin, Italy, on Saturday and he's currently one of the favourites to win. It's hoped Sam will be able to turn around our fortunes after the unfortunate turn of events 12 months ago, when James Newman scored the dreaded 'nil points' for his track Embers.
Sam is flying the flag with his track Space Man - could he be the first UK entry to take the crown since since Katrina and the Waves win with Love Shine a Light? Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. Judging by the bookies' odds, he could well be on to a winner. Last year’s event in Rotterdam was won by 9/4 Italians Maneskin, with their rock anthem Zitti e buoni’which translates as Shut up and behave.
But is Italy among the favourites again? Here we list the current top five in reverse order... Spain Spain are at 29/1 for their song SloMo, performed by Chanel Terrero, to win. Spain became the first country to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice in succession, with their 1968 and 1969 victories.
Sweden Cornelia Jakobs will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with Hold Me Closer. She previously qualified for Eurovision with girl group Love Generation in 2011 and 2012. And she's hoping to make it third time lucky with this track which is currently 11/1 to win.
