President Donald Trump and his allies appear to be doing nearly everything they can – in apparent disregard for the moral or legal perceptions – to win the 2020 presidential election. Trump occasionally has courted the Black community’s vote, albeit in usual Trump fashion – by degrading them – as he did in 2016, asking, “What the hell do you have to lose?”

The tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash, alongside his 13-year-old daughter and 7 other people, cast a somber mood over Sunday night’s 62nd Grammy Awards ceremony. A breathtaking opening number by host and multiple Grammy-winner Alicia Keys and members of Boys II Men paid tribute to the basketball superstar, setting the stage for an evening which was peppered with speeches and performances dedicated to Bryant’s memory.

Franklin Graham‘s planned tour of the UK has run in to a snag: It appears few in the UK want him there. The far right evangelical Christian leader with strong ties to President Donald Trump had announced a UK tour starting in June, but as word spread venues started canceling on him, or pulled out of negotiations. At issue: Graham’s anti-LGBTQ extremism.

In the state of Tennessee, governor Bill Lee recently signed into law HB 836, a bill providing protections for child welfare organizations who to turn away LGBTQ parents looking to adopt children. The Human Rights Campaign denounced the decision, saying that the new legislation "will harm children in Tennessee."

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign is defending amid LGBTQ backlash its acceptance of support from podcast host Joe Rogan, who in the past has made comments condemned as transphobic, used anti-gay epithets and jokingly compared a black neighborhood to “Planet of the Apes.”

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has signed legislation into law that would enable taxpayer-funded adoption agencies to refuse placement into LGBTQ homes over religious objections, making it the first anti-LGBTQ bill to become law in 2020.

"I don't like that word starlet at all, because there's no such thing, actually," Sharon Tate said in 1966. "I feel, at least in my estimation, that every person, if they want to be an actress or they want to stay in the acting world—which is a pretty tough world—before you even make an appearance, it's very necessary to learn your craft first, and take as much time, and do as much as you can."

The concept of separation of church and state seems to be all but dead in the state of Florida. Anti-LGBTQ religious activists have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, convincing lawmakers that the taxpayers should foot the bill for nearly any school parents want to send their children – including private Christian and other religious schools that promote anti-LGBTQ hate.
