The American had been unbeaten before losing to Dillian Whyte at Wembley Arena in November and is expected to put up a strong fight against the former two-time world champion.
Joshua, 33, will fight in London for the first time in 18 months, with a home crowd expected to pack out the East London venue to welcome back one of their heroes. Joshua won Olympic gold in the city in 2012 and embarks on a new era on Saturday night against Franklin with a new coach in the form of Derrick James.

The fight takes place at the O2 Arena in London, with the date set for Saturday, April 1. Ring walks for the main event are expected at the very specific time of 10:41pm in the UK, according to the fight broadcaster DAZN.
The fight will be shown live on DAZN, with no pay-per-view in an interesting move from the streaming platform.
