Sofia Vergara and filmmaker Robert Rodriguez have joined forces to give masked hero Zorro a gender makeover.The duo is behind a new NBC take on the classic vigilante tale, which will see the hero as a heroine.Robert has co-written the script with his sister, Rebecca Rodriguez, who will also direct.Vergara is among the producers.Ironically, Robert Rodriguez was briefly attached to direct Antonio Banderas in 1998’s The Mask of Zorro before exiting the project.
