Angelique Jackson Film icon Pam Grier has teamed with Village Roadshow Pictures to develop a project based on her bestselling 2010 memoir, “Foxy: My Life in Three Acts.” Known as the queen of 1970s Blaxploitation classics like “Coffy” and “Foxy Brown,” plus Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-nominated film “Jackie Brown,” Grier is enjoying her latest act thanks to movies like 2023’s “Cinnamon.” That film kicked off her relationship with Village Roadshow Pictures, which produced the title under the company’s Black Noir Cinema banner for Tubi. “Foxy: My Life in Three Acts” details Grier’s legendary screen career; her relationships with Richard Pryor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Freddie Prinze, among others; her experience as a Black female star in an era with rampant racism and sexism; and her battle with stage-four cervical cancer, diagnosed in 1988, when she was told she had 18 months to live.

Kate Aurthur administrator Gladiators, suit up: The “Scandal” rewatch podcast, “Unpacking the Toolbox,” is set to return with new episodes on April 11. “Unpacking the Toolbox” is hosted by former “Scandal” stars Katie Lowes (who played Quinn) and Guillermo Diaz (who played Huck) — their IRL friendship was forged on set, and fans nicknamed their twisted on-screen partnership Huckleberry Quinn. Part of the iHeartPodcasts network, the Shondaland Audio series “Unpacking the Toolbox” — a reference to Huck’s torture kit — hit pause during the SAG-AFTRA strike, having covered the first two seasons of Shonda Rhimes’ ABC drama, which ran for seven seasons from 2012 through 2018.

Nunziante – who is a writer/director and sometimes actor – and Indiana are jointly mounting a pipeline of theatrical movies with smart storylines rooted in present-day social issues that, at least in some cases, will seek to travel outside Italy.

Katcy Stephan Ryan Gosling and Apple Original Films exec Jessie Henderson have launched General Admission, a production company with the objective to collaborate with world class filmmakers to create bold theatrical and streaming events within all genres. In introducing their new venture, the duo has signed a three-year first-look film deal with Amazon MGM Studios. Under the pact, Amazon MGM Studios will have a first look on narrative features, some of which Gosling will star in, that General Admission intends to produce for both theatrical and streaming.

Longworth has now spent a decade examining the untold histories of show business — including watercooler seasons spent revisiting the Manson murders, the Star Wars franchise and the life and career of Joan Crawford. The Egyptian, owned by Netflix, has curated a three-day screening series featuring the films of Hollywood bombshell Kim Novak.Novak was the subject of the “lost” and first-ever recorded episode of “You Must Remember This.” Longworth has previously said a corrupted audio file and “large swaths” of copyrighted music led to the shelving of the episode, which will finally be released [Editor’s note: In the TV series that launched and catapulted Ryan Murphy to stardom, “Popular,” a fictional girl’s room at a Southern California high school was named for Novak after a donation from the star.

Following a spectacular filmmaking career that spanned five decades, Australian director Peter Weir has announced that he is retiring. While appearing at the Festival de la Cinémathèque in Paris, France (via Télérama), the filmmaker revealed he has retired from filmmaking after his extended hiatus from the industry that has spanned 14 years.

But during the Oscar ceremony, Anderson was nowhere to be found and couldn’t accept in person.

Wes Anderson was awarded an Oscar yesterday for his short film, The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar, but was not present to accept the award.The 96th Academy Awards took place last night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and saw Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer triumph, taking home seven of the prestigious awards.Also securing an award was eight-time nominee Anderson, who won in the category of Best Live Action Short Film for his picture The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar.The film, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch, Dev Patel and Ben Kingsley among others, is about a man who possesses the intriguing ability to see through objects, helping him to predict the future and build his fortune through gambling.However, the Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle Of Dogs creator was not at the ceremony to accept his award or make a speech.

At the 96th Academy Awards, the celebrated American filmmaker in Paris won his first Oscar in a somewhat unlikely category, Live Action Short.
