Wayne Rooney has shared a rather pricey mishap involving one of his sons and a £3,000 golf cart at their family estate.
The footballer and his wife Coleen, who are no strangers to luxury, reside in a lavish six-bedroom mansion which they moved into back in December 2021 with their four sons; Kai, 14, Klay, 11, Kit, eight and Cass, six.
The sprawling property boasts 40 acres of land and features two man-made fishing lakes designed by the Manchester United icon himself. In a candid chat with Gary Neville on The Overlap recently, Wayne revealed that his investment in a golf cart for zipping around the grounds took a turn when one of his boys drove it straight into a lake.
During the interview, filmed at Wayne's grand abode, Gary quizzed him about the lake, asking: "Do you go swimming in that lake? " Rooney responded with a story of the aquatic adventure of his golf cart, saying: "I wouldn't. We've had a golf buggy go in it.
The day I've gone to America as manager." Rooney detailed the incident further: "I went to the airport and one of the kids, straight in.", reports the Mirror.
This all happened while he was off to the States for his managerial stint with D.
C. United, where he served from July 2022 until the end of the 2023 season, before returning to the UK.
His return to English football saw him take the reins at Birmingham City, but his tenure was short-lived, lasting just 83 days. Despite inheriting a team in sixth place in the Championship, under Rooney's leadership, they plummeted to 20th and faced relegation to League One after winning only two out of 15 matches.
Now, Wayne is gearing up for a new challenge as he steps into his fourth managerial role, this time with Plymouth Argle. "Taking this role at Plymouth Argyle
