Back when Susan Choi was just a geeky Houston middle-schooler, she would spend her afternoons inundating a local radio station with requests for Led Zeppelin and “Edge of Seventeen.“ Later on, as a performing arts high school student, she worked at a record store, in part to be near her music-obsessed crush.
