Dua Lipa, Michael Stipe and Cate Blanchett have signed an open letter, urging President Joe Biden to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.The letter calls for “an end to the bombing of Gaza and the safe release of hostages,” as well as a safe route to be established into Palestine to deliver humanitarian aid. So far, it has been signed by dozens of high-profile names from across the entertainment world.Many of those supporting the ceasefire are musicians, such as pop star Lipa, R.E.M’s Michael Stipe, Killer Mike and Caroline Polachek.

They’ll be joined by Rachel Bloom, Stephen Colbert, Ron Funches, James Austin Johnson, Jon Stewart, the cast of How to Dance in Ohio, and a host of other acts as they bring in the holiday season with a show in support of programs benefitting those with autism.

The 50 metre tall holo-gauze is the same height as the leaning tower of Pisa, and suspended from two cranes.Last week, fans were invited to submit videos of them dancing to the DJ’s hit ‘Praise You’, unaware that they would end up becoming his virtual backing dancers during the world-first set.“Last night was a wild ride! We took over London’s skyline and made history,” said Fatboy Slim in a statement following the performance.

Horowitz Senior Music Writer A few weeks ago, Killer Mike stood poised at the mic on stage at “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.” He was joined by acclaimed jazz pianist Robert Glasper and R&B singer Eryn Allen Kane for a stripped-down rendition of “Motherless,” a deeply visceral meditation on the grief he faced from losing his mother and grandmother. “Is this a blessing or a curse, or just some other shit?” he choked through tears streaming down his face.

Arctic Monkeys have performed with a string section during the final nights of their ongoing tour. Ed Sheeran teamed up with Busted in London last night (October 10) to perform ‘Who’s David’.The star made a surprise appearance at The O2 midway through the noughties boy band’s set to help out on their 2004 single.Sheeran opened the vocals to the song before the rest of the band joined in. Former “Baywatch” star Mike Newman is opening up about his 16-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.The 66-year-old retired actor, who played lifeguard Mike ‘Newmie’ Newman on the hit NBC action series, told People Magazine that he first received his diagnosis in 2006 when family and began noticing changes in his movements and asked him to consult a doctor.Newman recalled that he was prescribed a medication that treats the symptoms of Parkinson’s and was later diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disorder. “Everything changes,” the former firefighter said.
