YouTube guitarist Sophie Lloyd has joined Machine Gun Kelly‘s live band.The London-based guitarist and content creator, who boasts 722,000 YouTube subscribers and 604,000 Instagram followers, has previously been endorsed by Muse‘s Matt Bellamy, who sent her a guitar as a gift in March 2021.In an Instagram Story that was shared by Kelly earlier today (May 24), Lloyd was seen rehearsing with the singer/rapper and his live band.“Adding a new friend to the band,” Kelly wrote as a caption to the clip, while clarifying that Lloyd and his band were practising ahead of Kelly’s ‘Mainstream Sellout’ tour.Lloyd reshared Kelly’s Story on her Instagram account this afternoon, confirming her place in Kelly’s live set-up. She later shared another story, writing: “Secret’s out! Florence + The Machine have scored their fourth Number One album with ‘Dance Fever’.Florence Welch’s band’s fifth studio album beat Kendrick Lamar‘s Mr Morale & The Big Steppers’ to the top spot.The band’s previous chart toppers include 2009 debut ‘Lungs’ follow up ‘Ceremonials’ and 2015’s ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’.Despite not claiming the top spot Lamar’s new LP was the most-streamed album of the week, in the absence of a physical release, according to the Official Charts Company.Meanwhile, The Black Keys ended up at Number Five with their new LP ‘Dropout Boogie.Elsewhere, in the UK singles chart, Sam Ryder‘s ‘Space Man’ was pipped to Number One by Harry Styles‘ ‘As It Was’,despite his success in the Eurovision Song Contest.Ryder’s song is also the highest Eurovision chart entry since Gina G’s Number One hit ‘Ooh Ahh…Just A Little Bit’ in 1996.‘Space Man’ was the UK’s most-downloaded song of the week, landing at Number One on the official download chart.Despite his defeat, Ryder hailed Styles who has remained top of the charts for seven consecutive weeks.“I feel like what Harry stands for, as a fan of his and listening to his music, he stands for the same things that Eurovision celebrates; a freedom of expression, of inclusivity. A celebration of music, joy and togetherness,” he said.

TWICE recently appeared in-person on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform their hit English single ‘The Feels’.On the May 18 broadcast of the late-night American talk show, host Stephen Colbert ushered the nine-member girl group with a brief introduction, before TWICE kickstarted their performance of ‘The Feels’.The girl group utilised much of the talk show’s set during their performance, making use of Colbert’s desk and more to showcase the song’s choreography throughout their performance. Moreover, TWICE also changed up the instrumental for the live version of ‘The Feels’, adding an extra set of horns for the song’s final chorus.Their live appearance on The Late Show marked TWICE’s in-person television debut in the United States.

High as Hope, Florence and the Machine’s latest release, Dance Fever (★★★★☆) finds Welch and her band embracing a beautifully baroque grandiosity.So much of Dance Fever feels deeply cathartic, finding release in lush arrangements throughout and a handful of soaring, anthemic tracks. On its face, the album delivers on its label, following up the slow-burning opener with “Free,” probably the album’s most straightforwardly danceable single.But Welch loves a multilayered meaning, and unsurprisingly, she takes a broader view of the idea of dancing fever.
