Watch the clip below.The single marks the New Orleans punk band’s first release on Rough Trade, and focuses on the story of Herman Wallace, a Black revolutionary who was held in solitary confinement while imprisoned in Louisiana.The band’s vocalist, Ali Logout and guitarist Maria Elena said the song was inspired by the ability to continue to dream in darkness.“Despite the sadistic torture they endured, they continued their fight towards Black liberation behind the prison walls,” they said.

Lana Del Rey has discussed the creative approach she’s taking to the new music she’s working on at the moment.In an interview with fashion magazine W, the singer-songwriter said she had been practicing “meditative automatic singing, where I don’t filter anything”, singing directly into her phone’s Voice Notes app. “It’s not perfect, obviously,” she said. “There are pauses, and I stumble.”Del Rey says she’s been sending these “really raw-sounding files” to producer and songwriter Drew Erickson, who Del Rey collaborated significantly with on last year’s ‘Blue Banisters’.

Phoebe Bridgers has today (May 16) shared a new music video for her track ‘Sidelines’ – listen to it below.The track, which is Bridgers’ first new original music in two years, is the featured track for the new BBC drama Conversations With Friends, based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel.Bridgers wrote the track with her bandmate and collaborator Marshall Vore and Ruby Rain Henley. According to a press release, ‘Sidelines’ will be Bridgers’ only original new song release of the year.The music video for ‘Sidelines’ features footage of Bridgers recording the song alongside scenes from the show, which feature actors Joe Alwyn, Alison Oliver, Jemima Kirke and Sasha Lane.
