Sadly, a rumored three-hour cut of Red, White & Royal Blue does not exist. However, Prime Video softened the blow of the news by unveiling a new deleted scene featuring the movie’s stars Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.
Fans got their hopes up about the possibility of seeing more of the pair as Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry of Britain after director Matthew Lopez mentioned that an early assembly of the movie was nearly an hour longer than the what made it to screens. However, he spoke out to explain that the quote was being misunderstood.

“There was never a three-hour cut of this film. What I said to somebody — now I deeply regret saying it (laughs) — was the assembly of this film was about 2 hours and 45 minutes,” Matthew told Teen Vogue.
He continued, explaining that this was all a “misunderstanding.”
“An assembly of a film, anyone who’s ever worked on a movie will tell you, an assembly is not a cut,” he explained. “An assembly is quite literally everything that’s in the script that was shot, strung together in order. And that first assembly came to about 2 hours and 45 minutes. So the movie was never 3 hours long and there was never a cut of the film that was 3 hours long.”
Matthew did have some good news: “There’s a handful of deleted scenes. As people have astutely noticed, there are things in the trailer that are not in the film.”
One such scene was just released by Prime Video and features Alex (Zakhar Perez) and Prince Henry (Galitzine) bonding over Cornetto ice creams at Kensington Palace. While brief, it’s another moment that highlights the pair’s chemistry.
