The eighth season of the reality show premiered this week as 16 Canadians entered the superhero-themed edition of the supersized series with the intention of lasting an unprecedented 83 days inside the BBCAN8 house to be crowned the winner as the last player standing.

Canada on Monday moved to ban entry to the country to non-residents, except for American citizens, in a bid to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. The announcement, made in Ottawa by Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, stopped short of calls to close the Canadian-U.S.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, Big Brother Canada host Arisa Cox stood in an empty studio on Thursday night as she announced Season 8’s first official eviction. But even though there were no screaming fans to cheer on the episode, there was still plenty of yelling going on inside the house leading up to 25-year-old military infantryman Michael Stubley’s dramatic eviction on Day 13.
