A furious waitress has slammed customers who only provided her with a 10 per cent tip - despite the fact she spent six hours serving them. Kristina Withers, from the US, took to TikTok and explained she had taken over her colleague's work and helped to serve the two diners who had been eating and drinking in the restaurant for two hours by the point she started, the Daily Star reports.
She said: "They were chilling, they were good to go, cashed out, no worries. At 7 o'clock, three hours after I cashed them out, they came to me and said 'Who's our server?'
"We want to order some drinks and some dinner." Kristina assumed the couple would leave after they had eaten but she was wrong as they ordered another round of drinks and stayed seated until all other customers had left.
She continued: "The very best part though, they didn't even tip 20 per cent – they were my only table and I know I was giving them great service. If you're gonna go sit in a restaurant for six f***ing hours, there should be a table fee, like $5 for an hour if you're sitting there, not drinking and not buying anything.
Some viewers sympathised with Kristina's frustration as one said: "There should absolutely be a time limit especially over three hours. Restaurants aren't a place to just hang out." Another commented: "If I'm in for six hours I'd literally tip 200%."
But others argued that if Kristina was so bothered about the customer's tip, she could get another job and work elsewhere. "You take that risk with that type of job, my largest tip I've ever got as I'm delivering medicines is 'stay dry'," someone else wrote.
