Now Deadline reports a star-studded joins the sale on the Croisette: Sebastián Lelio‘s Carl Sagan biopic “Voyagers,” with Andrew Garfield to star as the famous astronomer. Daisy Edgar-Jones also stars as Ann Druyan, Sagan’s spouse of fifteen years.

Naman Ramachandran Daryl McCormack is set to feature alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones in Universal and Amblin Entertainment’s “Twisters,” a sequel to 1996’s “Twister,” Variety has learned. McCormack will play a supporting role to Daisy Edgar Jones’ character, Variety understands. “Minari” helmer Lee Isaac Chung is directing the film from a script by “The Revenant” writer Mark L. Smith. “Twisters” is set to release on July 19, 2024. McCormack starred with Emma Thompson in “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande,” for which he was nominated for leading actor at this year’s BAFTA Film Awards. He was also nominated for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award. The actor’s credits also include hit series “Bad Sisters,” for which he was nominated in the best actor in a supporting role – drama category at the Irish Film and Television Awards.

The Montreal- and Toronto-based company has picked up Canadian rights to the drama directed by “Brooklyn” helmer John Crowley, who also directed Garfield in his breakout role in “Boy A.” The film is currently in production in London and specific plot details are being kept closely under wraps. All that’s known so far is that the pic is an immersive love story. “We Live in Time” is scripted by playwright and screenwriter Nick Payne with Benedict Cumberbatch on board as executive producer. The project is developed and produced by Studiocanal with partners at SunnyMarch including Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland and Guy Heeley. It is co-financed by Film4 and Studiocanal. International sales are handled by Studiocanal while the U.S. distribution rights have been acquired by A24.

Brent Lang Executive Editor Sebastián Lelio, the Oscar-winning auteur behind “A Fantastic Woman,” will direct Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones in “Voyagers,” the story of the romantic relationship between astronomer and “Contact” author Carl Sagan and documentary producer and director Ann Druyan. The feature is produced by Ben Browning for FilmNation Entertainment, Lynda Obst, who guided “Contact” to the big screen, and Druyan herself. FilmNation Entertainment is set to launch global sales at the upcoming Cannes Market “Voyagers” unfolds in 1977 as NASA prepared to launch humanity’s first interstellar probes. A team led by Sagan sets out to create a message to accompany them, known as the Golden Record, which included music and images, for possible alien civilizations. But what starts out as a race-against-the-clock mission blossoms into a love story between Sagan and Druyan. FilmNation Entertianment paired Druyan, who married Sagan in 1981, with screenwriters Lelio and Jessica Goldberg. They then wrote the original screenplay based on interviews with Druyan and many others who worked on the Golden Record project.

Featuring some of NFL Films’ archived never-before-seen content, the series will chronicle the Cowboys owner, president, and general manger’s rise from the son of an Arkansas community store owner to becoming one of the most renowned leaders in sports. Additionally, the documentary will highlight several of the household names who partnered with Jones along the way, including Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Deion Sanders, Head Coaches Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, Rupert Murdoch, and Phil Knight. When Jones first purchased the organization in 1989, the team was coming off a 13-loss season and was losing in excess of $1 million a month. He’s credited with transforming the franchise and leading a historic set of players and coaches to three NFL titles in the 1990s which ultimately cemented his name as a global sports business legend.
