Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent The trio behind Mediawan, the French company which recently acquired a majority stake in Brad Pitt’s Plan B, have made an offer to buy CGR Cinema, France’s second biggest multiplex chain, Variety has confirmed. The bid has been made by Pierre-Antoine Capton and French telecom tycoon Xavier Niel, the co-founders of Mediawan. Capton and Niel are being backed by a consortium which includes Matthieu Pigasse, a big-time financier who is the third co-founder of Mediawan, among others. The offer values CGR Cinemas below €500 million ($300 million), according to a source closed to discussions. The British fund Aermont Capital has also made an offer, according to the French news site “L’informé.”

Queer Eye's Tan France and Jonathan Van Ness are mourning the loss of Tom Jackson, who has died aged 63. The 'Queer Eye' family member, who appeared on the Netflix reboot's first episode in 2018, lost his battle with gland cancer metastatic adenocarcinoma on March 3rd. A post on the show's official Instagram account read: "it’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a member of our Queer Eye family.

Peter Andre celebrated his 50th birthday in style, enjoying a surprise birthday meal complete with a private chef after jetting back from Dubai. Although Louis Garrel’s “The Innocent” and Dominik Moll’s thriller “The Night of the 12th” are leading nominations at 48th Cesar Awards, it’s uncertain that they will also walk away with the biggest prizes. Like the Oscars, the Cesars were also embroiled in controversy due to its failure to nominate female directors. The omission came as a surprise especially because 2022 was banner year for French female filmmakers, including Alice Diop (“Saint Omer”) and Claire Denis (“Stars at Noon”) who the festival circuit and scoring prizes.
