Val Kilmer has a theory regarding his throat cancer treatments. In 2014, Kilmer was told by doctors that he had throat cancer after finding a lump in his throat and waking up in pools of blood, according to the New York Times.

Val Kilmer‘s kids were the sole reason behind his decision to seek traditional cancer treatment. In an interview with The New York Times, the 60-year-old actor discusses how he initially planned to treat his throat cancer through his Christian Science faith. That plan changed, though, due to his kids, Jack, 24, and Mercedes, 28, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Joanne Whalley.

Val Kilmer is opening up about an incorporeal experience he claims he endured involving a dark angel who once ripped his heart out. The "Top Gun" star has formerly described himself as a Christian Scientist who has turned to faith in his darkest times, including his battle with throat cancer.

In his book, Val admits that he wanted to kiss Angelina Jolie before they starred in the 2004 film Alexander, and he “couldn‘t wait to kiss her” when they were on set together. At the time, the Hollywood star had recently separated from her second husband, Billy Bob Thornton.
