The union said its members at First were among the worst paid by bus providers in Greater Manchester before taking industrial action this year. But the latest round of strike action was halted for a ballot to take place on Wednesday over a new pay deal, which has now been accepted.
Reacting on Thursday, Unite said First Bus drivers in Oldham voted to accept a deal worth 18 per cent overall.
The union said it includes a £1,100 payment in lieu of backpay from April, a 14.8 per cent increase from September 3 and a further 3.2 per cent increase from January. Bank holiday pay, said United, has also been increased to £20 per hour.
GMAT drivers, which provide the Ring and Ride service, balloted in favour of a 10 per cent increase backdated to April, a £350 one-off payment for all staff and an extra day's holiday per year.
"GMAT has also committed to signing up to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter," added a Unite spokesperson. "This will improve terms and conditions, including improvements to sick pay, flexible working and maternity leave."
