The U.S. creator of hit comedy Ugly Betty has reportedly been found dead from a suspected suicide.
TV writer and producer Silvio Horta was found unresponsive in a motel room in Miami on Tuesday, with Variety sources claiming the 45-year-old died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Horta was famed for adapting popular Colombian telenovela Yo soy Betty, la fea ( I Am Betty, The Ugly One) for English-speaking audiences, which turned lead actress America Ferrera into a star.

The American version of "Ugly Betty", which starred America Ferrera, ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2010 and was adapted from the hit Colombian telenovela "Yo soy Betty, la fea".
