Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte are headed for a titanic heavyweight duel under the Wembley arch in April, with a sellout croowd expected in London for the world championship bout. Fury currently holds the WBC belt for which Whyte is the mandatory challenger and an intense battle is expected, even more so after Whyte failed to turn up to Tuesday's pre-fight press conference.
Whyte remained in Portugal, seemingly in protest over the terms that he had previously agreed to ahead of the fight, with Fury's team winning the purse bids earlier this month. Promoter Frank Warren slammed the Londoner as 'unprofessional' for doing so, revealing that the 33-year-old had asked for a private jet to be sent to bring him to London.
Whyte became the mandatory challenger after beating Alexander Povetkin last March, having previously lost to the Russian fighter. Meanwhile, Fury will come into the fight having faced three consecutive fights against American Deontay Wilder over the course of three years between 2018 and 2021, where he claimed Wilder's WBC belt.
