Two Sam Esmail Drama Series in Development at ABC

Denise Petski Senior Managing EditorNBC has put in development a drama series based on the novel and movie Fried Green Tomatoes, with Reba McEntire attached to star, and Norman Lear executive producing, Deadline has confirmed. Written by Jennifer Cecil, the project is described as a modernization of the beloved novel and movie that explores the lives of descendants from the original work.

It is expected to play out from early 2021.Where many Chinese dramas run for between 40 and 80 episodes, “The Bad Kids” comprises 12 50-minute episodes, structred as a suspense series that tells the story of three youngsters in a small coastal town.

In a non-pandemic alternate universe, we’d be six months removed from the release of Scott Cooper’s highly-anticipated horror film, “Antlers.” However, this isn’t that idyllic world and the pandemic forced the studio to push “Antlers” until 2021. So, sadly, we have months still to wait and see what the filmmaker has up his sleeve.

Bolton is one of the locations chosen for the backdrop of a new BBC One drama.Ridley Road is the story of a young Jewish woman who falls in love with an activist who inspires her to drop her comfortable life in the North of England and move to London to fight fascism.Filming will be taking place in the old court building on Le Mans Crescent, behind Bolton Town Hall, on Monday and Tuesday this week.
