Police investigating an alleged attempted murder in Clydebank have made two arrests.
A 62-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident on Alexander Street shortly after midnight on Monday May 8. The alleged victim, a 38-year-old man, is said to have stumbled to a nearby takeaway for help.
He was then rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow shortly after midnight where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable. His injuries are now said to have been serious, but not life-threatening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that the pair had been taken into custody but have since been released pending further enquiries. No-one has been charged.
Detective Constable Martin Davies, Clydebank CID, previously said: “Although this attack took place in the early hours of the morning, I am sure there would have been people about and so I’d ask that if you were in the area and saw anything that may assist officers with their enquiries, then please get in touch."
"Officers can be contacted by phoning 101. Please quote reference number 0024 of Monday, 8 May 2023 when calling. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

McKinley Franklin editor Warner Bros. is giving audiences a closer look at “Barbie” in a new official trailer. While the story of the film has been mostly kept under wraps, the new trailer teases what Greta Gerwig’s summer tentpole is all about, as Barbie and Ken are set to officially enter the real world on July 21. Fatigued of their days in Barbieland (where everyone is seemingly also named Barbie and Ken), Margot Robbie’s Barbie and Ryan Gosling’s Ken venture out beyond the borders of their homeland. The new footage shows Barbie and Ken exploring the modern world, which is quite different from the safe haven of their pink-coded, plastic lifestyle. While on Venice Beach, Barbie punches a man who slaps her butt, and she and Ken end up posing with some LAPD mugshots. Meanwhile, people in our world are starting to freak out that a real-life Barbie is walking the streets of L.A.

Naman Ramachandran British actor Tobias Menzies, Emmy winner for Netflix’s “The Crown,” will next be seen in A24’s “You Hurt My Feelings,” directed by Nicole Holofcener. In the film, which bowed at Sundance earlier this year, Menzies plays Don, a psychologist whose long-standing happy marriage to author Beth (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is upended when she overhears his honest reaction to her latest book. Menzies says that the initial brief provided by Holofcener was about a key aspect of his character – his insecurities about his looks and ageing. Going into the project, both Menzies and Holofcener, whose credits include comedy-drama films “Walking and Talking” (1996), “Friends with Money” (2006) and “Enough Said” (2013), were already keen to work with each other. The director cast the London-born star after watching “This Way Up,” the BAFTA-winning British television comedy in which he played straight man to stand-up comic Aisling Bea.
