The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has confirmed 12 prisoners have been released early from Perth Prison in a bid to tackle COVID-19.
The prisoners were released from the prison this month as a result of emergency measures approved by the Scottish Parliament.
Last month it was revealed there had been several positives cases of COVID-19 connected to the prison.
The prisoners, who were sentenced up to 18 months behind bars, were given their freedom under a “triple lock” set of restrictions.
