A reality TV star claims she slept over 700 men while struggling with a sex addiction that "ruled her life" - but says she is "not ashamed" of her past. Belinda "Love" Rygier, who appeared as a contestant on The Bachelor Australia 2017, revealed she has now been celibate for 15 months and is currently eight years into her recovery.
At the height of her addiction, when dating apps were not yet available, Belinda admitted that she would go out up to six nights a week in the hopes of finding someone to hook up with. During a candid interview on radio show You're a Grub Mate!, the 37-year-old said that she "didn't realise [she] had a problem until [she] healed it".
As reported by the Mirror, the relationship guru explained: "When I recovered I thought there was some unhealed trauma from my past that was causing my sex addiction. It ruled my life, but I was a functioning addict, I have a great career, you wouldn't know on the surface."
Admitting that she has "lost count" of the number of men she has slept with, Belinda suggested that it was "above 700". However, she said that she is "not ashamed" by the number of sexual partners she's had and that she "still has a high sex drive".
She added: "Men were very good at telling me what I want to hear, it was about feeling beautiful and validated and loved rather than having the sex."
Belinda continued: "Society has declined and we're using sex for the wrong reason - which is a quick validation or moment. I will be having sex again but with someone I have a connection with."
The TV star is now a love guru and often takes to social media to offer words of wisdom to her 9.6k followers. Sharing a photo of herself, she wrote: "If you want to find love. Lead with your [heart].
