Tributes paid to Take Hart's 'Mr Bennett'

Tributes to 'Mr Bennett' from Take Hart have been paid following his sad death. Colin Bennett, the much-loved Children's BBC actor, was remembered by many for his role on the children's show and its spin-off Heartbeat.
His son Tom Bennett, also an actor, shared the news of his father's passing. On X, formerly Twitter, Tom said: "My Dad (Mr Bennett) sadly passed away 2 weeks ago today. I still don't quite have the words. He was my hero. I will miss him more than he will ever know. I love you, Dad."
Colin was best known for playing the caretaker Mr Bennett on Take Hart, which aired from 1977 to 1983. He starred alongside Tony Hart in the BBC art show, which also featured the animated character Morph.
He reprised the role for the spin-off Hartbeat, which was on TV from 1984 until 1989, reports Wales Online. He also appeared in shows You Should Be So Lucky, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Luna.
More recently, he was in the film Rebecca (2020) and had a part in the show The Full Monty, which came out last year. Fans paid tribute to the late actor on social media.
