A treasurer for Kanye West's political wing has stepped down from his position and sent a letter to West outlining a potential infraction of campaign finance laws, Politico reports. The allegation in Patrick Krason's letter of resignation to West is reportedly directed at Milo Yiannopoulos, the far-right media personality who took the top job at West's campaign last week, according to The Daily Beast.
Krason outlined a “potentially serious criminal transaction” at the campaign and accused Yiannopoulos of “[submitting] falsified invoices and for expenditures that would be deemed unlawful.” The transaction allegedly involves an expense for a "digital asset" that Yiannopoulos requested reimbursement from both West's presidential campaign and the campaign of Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Yiannopoulos' former employer. Read Next: Report: Adidas is sitting on $1.3 billion in unsold Yeezys Yiannopoulos denied the allegations in a statement to Politico, calling the claims a “venomous” attempt to lash out at the campaign and that he would not “give any credence or ridiculous, ridiculous and easily disproven claims.” According to FEC filings, there are no transactions from Greene's campaign to Yiannopoulos during the time he performed “campaign wrap-up services” and other duties for West's campaign beginning in November 2022.
Kanye West has not officially filed to run for president in 2024, but the flurry of activity would suggest that the probability is stronger than just a few weeks ago.
