Hitmaker of the Month: Producer Rogét Chahayed Is Flying High With Jack Harlow’s Chart-Topping ‘First Class’

Lily Moayeri The musical pairing of songwriter-producer Rogét Chahayed and rapper Jack Harlow seems so pre-destined, it’s hard to believe the seed was planted by DM. It was back in May 2021, just as Harlow was starting to conceptualize his just-released album, “Come Home the Kids Miss You,” when he reached out to Chahayed, whose credits include Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” featuring Drake, Halsey’s “Bad at Love” and Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA.

Megan Thee Stallion got nearly naked for Billboards 2022 performance

just won the Billboard Award for Top Rap Female Artist at the ceremony, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. The 27-year-old “Body” singer — real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete — kicked off the unbridled performance with a racy rendition of her new girl-power anthem “Plan B.” During the hot number, she sported a form-fitting one-piece with skimpy geometric cutouts that left little to the imagination. An itsy bitsy back thong silhouette and sleek black lace-up boots completed the smoldering ensemble — which was all custom Mugler, according to a recent Instagram post from the singer.Interestingly, many fans have speculated that “Plan B” was a diss track aimed at her ex, Tory Lanez, who shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020.

Travis Scott Performs Icy ‘Mafia’ at Billboard Music Awards in First Post-Astroworld TV Performance

Thania Garcia In his first televised performance since the Astroworld disaster last fall, Travis Scott performed his song “Mafia” on the Billboard Music Awards, on a polar-themed set reminiscent of “Game of Thrones.”The camera slowly zoomed in on him inside a cave-like room framed by a polar scene, wearing a fur-and-white outfit as he launched into the song surrounded by similarly garbed dancers. All of them lurched around fake bolders and ice slabs; the scene would suddenly lurch into a surreal, blurry black background like some parallel dimension. He performed a brief segment of a new song — presumably from his forthcoming album, “Utopia” — before the performance ended abruptly, followed, naturally enough, by Morgan Wallen accepting an award presented by Pusha T.

Astroworld attendee sues Travis Scott and Live Nation over death of her unborn child

Travis Scott‘s Astroworld festival has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the rapper and Live Nation.According to court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Shanazia Williamson and her husband Jarawd Owens of Dayton were expecting a child when they attended the event last November. The couple allege in their lawsuit that Williamson was “trampled and crushed, resulting in horrific injuries and ultimately the death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child” while in attendance at the festival. In addition, Williamson also “sustained injuries to her shoulder, back, leg, chest, stomach and other parts of her body” according to the lawsuit, and the “defendants’ failure to plan, design, manage, operate, staff and supervise the event was a direct and proximate cause of Shanazia’s injuries and death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child”.The suit also alleges that the defendants, which also include security company Valle Services SMG, ASM Global and the Harris County Sports and Convention corporation, were negligent for various reasons, including inadequate security and medical personnel for the festival along with failing to recognise safety hazards.NME has contacted a spokesperson for Travis Scott for comment.10 people died at Scott’s Houston-based festival last November after a crowd surge.Earlier this week, a new court filing revealed that nearly 5,000 people were injured in the tragedy.
