The Tour de France has new dates, and it will be followed by cycling's two other major races. Because of restrictions related to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the iconic race around France will now start Aug.
29 and finish Sept. 20.
The Giro d'Italia and the Spanish Vuelta, cycling's two other Grand Tours, will take place after the French race. The International Cycling Union (UCI) announced the tour's new dates Wednesday after consulting with race organizer Amaury Sport Organisation.
France has laid out its plans to get back to work after the COVID-19 lockdown, but for the nation's film industry, the news doesn't look good. Under the guidelines outlined by French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe to the country's National Assembly on Tuesday, cinemas will not be among the businesses allowed to reopen when France begins to loosen its lockdown measures May 11.
