Tory candidate slams 'bully' who posted excrement through her office letterbox

An election candidate hoping to be re-elected as a North West MP says a 'bully' has posted excrement through her office door. Police were called out to the office for Katherine Fletcher in South Ribble, Lancashire, yesterday (May 30) after the shocking discovery by her campaign team.
The Conservative politician, who was born and raised in Wythenshawe, has now warned the culprit that the 'attempt to bully' her would 'not work'. In a video posted on X yesterday (May 30), she said: “Today the police are at my office because somebody has put excrement through the letterbox.
"One of my volunteers had to find that this morning. Now, I understand that women get more than their fair share in political environments, but this attempt to bully me will not work because it is not the decent or right thing to do.

"I’m working hard for South Ribble. I’ve delivered loads, I want the opportunity to do more. And so to the bully that did this: not the right person."
Ms Fletcher served as a town councillor in Knutsford, Cheshire, before becoming the South Ribble MP in the 2019 general election. Her Tory colleague Mel Stride, Work and Pensions Secretary, has slammed the ordeal as 'utterly shameful'.
