The Wanted fans were delighted as Tom Parker made a surprise appearance at the band's Birmingham show on Monday evening. Earlier this month, 33 year old Tom explained that he had to pull out of the band's first concerts as he continues to fight cancer while receiving experimental treatment in Spain. And fans at the concert couldn't contain their excitement as they realised Tom was now back in the UK following a month's worth of treatment at the specialist clinic abroad.
"Give it up for Tom Parker!" Nathan Sykes told the crowd as Tom, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020, emerged. As the crowd went wild for Tom, Nathan continued: "As you guys can probably tell, there is a massive space in this band tonight. And we love Tom as much as you do.
"In fact, we'll be big-headed and say that we love him slightly more, which is a lot. We can't wait to have him back, which will be very soon. He sees all your messages and everything," he added. The Wanted also posted a snap of their sweet reunion on Twitter.
"Like the king that he is! The f*****g legend that is @TomParker, Bournemouth, that was so special!!!!" they wrote in the caption. Fans later rushed to social media to gush over Tom's surprise appearance, with one person commenting: "The moment is the most unforgettable, forever." Another wrote: "I am sobbing right now looking at this picture! Love seeing all five you on stage." A third added: "My heart can't cope" while a fourth wrote: "So so proud, he's incredible!" Tom had hoped to return from Spain in time to perform with his bandmates. But sadly, logistical issues with the treatment schedule have meant he will need to continue the programme for a few more days.Tom, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020,
