Tom Jackson Dies: ‘Queer Eye’ Reboot Season One Makeover Was 63

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Tom Leadon, a singer and guitarist best known for co-founding the band Mudcrutch with Tom Petty in the early ’70s and participating in a high-profile reunion beginning in 2008, died March 22 at age 71. The death was publicly revealed Monday. No cause of death was given but a post from Petty’s official fan club attributed it to “natural causes.” “Tom Leadon was my deepest guitar soul brother,” wrote Mike Campbell, a fellow member of Mudcrutch across the decades, on Twitter. “We spent countless hours playing acoustic guitars and teaching each other things. A kinder soul never walked the earth. I will always miss his spirit and generosity. Sleep peacefully my old friend.”

Unable to reach Dre for support, she dies by suicide.

Jason Ritter is set as a lead opposite Kathy Bates in CBS’ drama pilot Matlock, a new take on the classic legal TV drama that starred Andy Griffith. The new show comes from Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman and NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen. Ritter rounds out the series regular cast for the pilot. In addition to Bates and Marshall, he joins previously announced Skye P. Marshall, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis.

Tom Joyner, who was First AD on such notable titles as Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, George Roy Hill’s Slapshot and Clint Eastwood’s Bronco Billy, died February 22 after a long battle with cancer and heart disease. He was 79.

After undergoing a makeover, Jackson went on to reconcile with his ex-wife Abby Parr. The two went on to get engaged and married for a second time but later divorced in 2019, according to Jackson’s Twitter.According to a local obituary, the 63-year-old died on March 3 at 11:49 p.m.
