But only one man could come out on top in the battle for which member of Hollywood would get to portray Tiger King's Joe Exotic first, and the honor has officially gone to Nicolas Cage, which feels right.

As broadcast television networks begin running out of programming after all TV and film production halted in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s time to get creative.

You can't look anywhere on the internet lately without stumbling on someone talking about Netflix's hit docuseries Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness. With a phenomenon like this, talk of adapting the story as a TV show or a movie was basically inevitable. (Kate McKinnon is already executive producing and starring in one, for the record.)

Rob Lowe might star in a Joe Exotic adaptation from Ryan Murphy!

Could we be getting Ryan Murphy's take on Joe Exotic and the events in Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness? After posting photos of himself as Joe Exotic, Rob Lowe updated his Instagram caption to say he and Murphy are in discussions to take on the infamous big cat owner who is now imprisoned on charges stemming from a murder-for-hire plot with Carole Baskin as the target.

Rob Lowe is getting in on the “Tiger King” phenomenon after numerous Hollywood standouts have expressed interest in portraying the big cat wrangler -- and the actor just might have the best shot at making it happen. On Monday, Lowe said that he and “American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy would be “developing our own version of this insane story,” and according to People magazine, the project is currently in discussion.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Carole Baskin, the foil to “Tiger King” subject and would-be proxy murderer Joe Exotic.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals on Tuesday asked Universal Content Productions and Kate McKinnon not to use live animals in their upcoming limited series about Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka "Joe Exotic," a big-cat exhibitor profiled in the Netflix breakout docuseries Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

McKinnon will portray Big Cat Rescue founder Baskin in a new series.

Carole Baskin seemingly won't approve of Kate McKinnon's casting as her in an upcoming TV series until one very important condition is met.
