Netflix crime documentary Tiger King is based on the life of American zookeeper Joe Exotic. Exotic was sentenced to 22 years of imprisonment after being accused of several charges, including two murders-for-hire and 17 other wildlife violations.

All eyes have been on Netflix’s new crime docuseries Tiger King, following its premiere on the streaming service. The gritty series traces the steps of a man named Joe Exotic, a breeder of big cats and owner of an Oklahoma-based petting zoo.

Joe Exotic has been hospitalised after contracting coronavirus in prison, it has been reported.The 57 year old recently shot to fame in the UK a documentary about his life, titled Tiger King, was released on Netflix last month. He is currently serving a 22 year sentence at a federal prison in Texas for 17 charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire, but it is believed he has now been temporarily transferred to a prison medical ward as he battles the illness.

After several subjects of have spoken out, it’s now Howard Baskin’s turn to share his thoughts on the Netflix true-crime docuseries. The current husband of animal activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue Carole Baskin came to her defense over questions raised over the disappearance of her second husband, Don Lewis, and even made a personal plea to Kim Kardashian West in a video posted to YouTube.
