The growing dependence on food parcels in Dumfries and Galloway has been branded a “scandal”.
The Menu for Change group yesterday published a report revealing an eight per cent increase in parcels dished out to needy families by independent agencies over an 18 month period.
Nearly 13,000 were distributed in Dumfries and Galloway between April 2018 and September 2019 compared with 11,970 from April 2017 to September 2018.

“The Cave” director Feras Fayyad, who was supposed to be at the Television Critics Assn. press tour on Friday, failed to make a National Geographic panel for the show — after being prevented from entering the United States over the status of his visa.
