'This Is Us' Series Finale Date Revealed, Follow-Up Movie Plans Teased

The stars of This Is Us have revealed some news about the end of the show.
Most of the cast joined series creator Dan Fogelman for a virtual panel at the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday morning (February 11) and they revealed the date of the series finale.

NBC is currently airing This Is Us‘ sixth and final season. There will be 18 total episodes and five of them have aired so far. The series finale will air on May 24 at 9pm ET.
In attendance for the virtual panel were cast members Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Justin Hartley and Jon Huertas. Missing were Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan.
Dan was asked if he would ever revisit This Is Us in the future.
“I say no to nothing,” he said (via Variety). “If we can figure out a movie and can get together with [the cast] again in a few years, I’d love to. I don’t know what it would be because we close out our story in the series finale.”
He continued, “I suspect that these six actors on your screen right now, as well as those two who are missing, are going to be flooding your TV screens and movie screens in years to come. I suspect that, when I want to do something again for This Is Us with these guys, they’re going to be very busy.”
Dan said an idea for a follow-up movie could be “what would have happened if Jack survived the fire.”
In the middle of the panel, Dan revealed, “the president of NBC is literally texting me right now: ‘Yes to the movie.’”
