A Salford family has revealed how a vicious dog attack turned their Easter Bank Holiday trip to the seaside into "a nightmare".
John and Tammy, who did not want to reveal their surname, had taken their two young children and six-month-old Labrador to Southport Beach on Monday (April 5).
The family spotted the animal off its lead as they arrived at the beach - and even joked about how dangerous it looked.
