Theater Owners Expect 90% Of World’s Cinemas To Be Open By ‘Tenet’ Release Date

Similar to folks like Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino is a long-time advocate for the theatrical experience and all that entails. Needless to say, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever see Tarantino create a film that can only be viewed on TV screens, tablets, or laptops.

With territories across the world beginning to reopen after the COVID-19 pandemic (whether you may think it’s too early or not), it appears that business owners are hoping that the worldwide economy can quickly bounce back after many countries imposed quarantines on its population.

Since “Tenet” vacated the July 17 release date, Warner Bros. decided to give Christopher Nolan fans a treat for that date, anyway, with the re-release of “Inception.” However, even if you’re a fan of “Inception” and seen it a million times, the studio is adding a little bonus that might be worth the price of a movie ticket.

Has there been a film with a more anticipated release date than Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet?” Unlike the release dates for a big Marvel Studios film or the latest “Star Wars” movie, Warner Bros’ “Tenet” is not only poised to be one of the biggest films of the year, but it’s also being looked at as the film that will reignite the theatrical experience after the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down a number of months ago.

It seems that the marketing for Tenet is really building with yet another teaser trailer being released to make us want even more of the latest Christopher Nolan. The film is still set for release in mid-July (at the time of writing) with the movie set to be the first major studio movie to hit cinemas since they closed back in March.

Although two trailers of Tenet were released, it hasn't revealed the mystery of the Christopher Nolan directorial. Fans have been speculating about the plot, which seems to have some connection with defying the laws of time. While the trailers have been messing with our heads, it turns out even Robert Pattinson wasn't aware of what was happening for most months of the filming. The Twilight actor recently confessed that though he shot every scene given him, he had no idea what was going on. 

Turns out, stars are just like us, at least when it comes to being confused by Christopher Nolan‘s movies. As part of Esquire’s new profile on “Tenet” leading star John David Washington, his co-star Robert Pattinson acknowledged he often relied on Washington to help him understand the plot of the film as they were filming.

Christopher Nolan is one of the most beloved filmmakers working today. His films not only are well made, with many being completely original ideas (a sad rarity in today’s blockbuster business), but they’re also some of the most analyzed, as fans spend hours and hours trying to figure out the hidden meanings in his features.

Just when we thought it seemed inevitable that Warner Bros. is planning to move ahead with its July 17 release date for Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet,” San Francisco releases news that doesn’t bode well for the film’s expected debut, as well as the rest of the summer movie season.
