In her feature debut, which screens in competition at the Malaga Film Festival, Méndez was eager to explore a number of elements, she tells Variety, namely the youth of today, which she describes as the most hyper-connected generation — even when they live in such isolated areas as the mountain village of As Neves.

Jericho Ridge which is coming to screens a little bit later this year from The Movie Partnership in the UK. Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Oscar-winning directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known professionally as Daniels, will debut their cinematic follow-up to “Everything Everywhere All at Once” in 2026. Universal Pictures, which recently signed an exclusive first-look deal with the filmmakers, added to its release calendar an “Untitled Event Film Directed by Daniels” on June 12, 2026.
