Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev’s The Vampire Diaries characters Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert started dating each other in season 4 after she broke up with Damon’s younger brother Stefan Salvatore (played by Paul Wesley). From the very begging of their on-screen romance, Ian and Nina enjoyed the support of their passionate fans who were just crazy about Damon and Elena’s jaw-dropping chemistry.

Now that we have seen the show, we can’t imagine The Vampire Diaries without Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. The actors were pure magic as Elena and Damon. They shared flawless chemistry and defined romance for us for years. It is impossible to imagine any other actor playing those parts in the teen drama series. While they did end up doing a remarkable job, both Ian and Nina nearly lost the part after blowing their first auditions.  

As ethically challenged and immoral as Damon Salvatore was, The Vampire Diaries fans could never hate the character thanks to his irresistible charm. The show, that featured Ian Somerhalder as Damon, first aired on the television in 2009 and ran for 8 seasons.

In the post, he praised the 32-year-old for being the perfect wife and mother to their son. Ian shared a series of beautiful pictures of his wife and thanked her for supporting him and being by his side in everything he does and tries to accomplish in life.

The Vampire Diaries actress, who is currently practicing social distancing amid the Coronavirus pandemic, took to Instagram to share a series of throwback posts from her chill getaway. She posted a couple of pictures and a video in which she can be seen having the time of her life.

However, the actress decided to add a hue of purple to her life with the help of her locks. In a recent Instagram post, the actress revealed she dyed her hair purple to join the "#QuaranTINT" trend on Instagram. The actress shared two pictures to reveal her new hair colour, however, it is not evident. 

Stefan Salvatore and Elena Gilbert were perfect together from the very first season. We could feel the chemistry between the two from the moment they laid eyes on each other. They accepted each other for what they were and always had each other’s back. They were head over heels in love and it was evident every time we saw the characters on the screen. It was heartbreaking when Elena decided to leave Stefan for his elder brother Damon.

Nina Dobrev took a trip down the memory lane and posted throwback pictures from her childhood to wish her mama on Mother’s Day. The Vampire Diaries star took to her Instagram stories and shared a series of pictures with her mother Michaela Constantine. “Ever wondered where I got it from? Animal lover… cocktail enthusiast…” she wrote on the pictures. I one of the photos, Nina can be seen wearing a Christmas sweater and embracing her mother, and the other one features her mother riding a horse.

It has been a while since the last episode of The Vampire Diaries was aired and we still can’t get over the show. We miss the drama, we miss the suspense, we miss the magic, and most importantly we miss the all-consuming romance between Nina Dobrev’s Elena Gilbert and Ian Somerhalder’s Damon Salvatore. Every time we saw them on screen, it was all about chemistry and fireworks! Even when Elena was dating Stefan, the fans could not stop rooting for her and Damon.
