The Traitors star Amanda Lovett has landed a part on the BBC show Pilgrimage, alongside Spencer Matthews and Christine McGuinness. Pilgrimage is returning for its sixth series, which sees its stars take a on challenging journey as they traverse North Wales.
Spencer Matthews, who found fame on Made in Chelsea, and Christine McGuinness, the ex-wife of Paddy McGuinness, will both star on the new series. Presenter Michaela Strachan, will also star, as well as Friday Night Dinner's Tom Rosenthal.
Amanda Lovett, 54, who appeared on the first series of BBC's The Traitors, said of the show: "They say that if you go on a pilgrimage, there’s a hope that by the end of it there will have been some sort of realisation, so I’m looking forward to finding mine! "I’ve always been the mum, the gran, the worker, and I sort of forgot about me. I’ve done school runs for 32 years, and I’ve found my time now." The former estate agent from Swansea was discovered as a Traitor on the first series of the show, as she failed to scoop the big cash prize.
She later said that she was glad to have not won the show, as she told the Daily Star: "I enjoyed the game, the facade, but when you start getting emotionally tied – people are really hurting in there – it's difficult then. "Everybody's our 100%, everyone was my 100% because I knew they were Faithful.
So for a Traitor to go all the way and take the money, well, I couldn't have done it, my mother would have shot me from up in heaven, like, 'I haven't brought you up to be like that!'" Following her stint on The Traitors, Amanda went on to be a presenter on Homes Under the Hammer. Previous series of Pilgrimage have seen stars such as Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver, Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison and
