'The Time Traveler's Wife' Canceled by HBO After One Season (Nope, It Wasn't a Limited Series!)

Ellise Shafer “Gentleman Jack” has been canceled at HBO after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.Set in 19th century Yorkshire, the historical drama is based on the life of Anne Lister (Suranne Jones), a landowner and industrialist who is often referred to as the “first modern lesbian” due to her diaries, written in secret code, that documented her relationships with women. “Gentleman Jack” is a co-production with BBC One and also stars Sophie Rundle, Joe Armstrong, Amelia Bullmore, Rosie Cavaliero, Gemma Whelan, Gemma Jones, Timothy West and Tom Lewis.“HBO will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Gentleman Jack,'” the network said in a statement to Variety.

The news comes a little over a month after the series, a co-production with the BBC, wrapped its Season 2 run on HBO. Gentleman Jack aired on the lower-trafficked Monday night, with its second season, delayed by the pandemic, among HBO’s lower rated original series.

Amazon Prime Video has cancelled sci-fi series Night Sky after one season.According to Deadline, the series didn’t make a “significant viewership impact” to justify the sizable costs for a second season.All eight episodes of Night Sky released on Amazon on May 20, with its cancellation coming six weeks after its debut.The series follows married couple Franklin (J.K. Simmons) and Irene York (Sissy Spacek) who discover a portal in their backyard that leads to a deserted planet.Night Sky also stars Chai Hansen, Adam Bartley, Julieta Zylberberg, Piotr Adamczyk, Kiah McKirnan, Beth Lacke, Sonya Walger and Stephen Louis Grush.

Carlos Santana's wife shared an update on the legendary guitarist after he collapsed on stage during a Michigan concert due to heat exhaustion Tuesday evening.  "Please know that he’s resting and doing very well! He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion & dehydration … it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so that coupled with not enough water is what caused the issue," the post, first shared by his wife, Cindy Blackman, stated. "He’ll be as good as new soon! Thank you again and we love you!" J. Kim Murphy Amazon Prime Video has canceled “Night Sky,” its science-fiction series starring Sissy Spacek and J.K.

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon’s Prime Video is not proceeding with a second season of its sci-fi series Night Sky, starring Oscar winners Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons. The news comes a months and a half after all eight Season 1 episodes of the drama, co-produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, were released May 20.

The show originally launched in 2019 when Paramount+ was still known as CBS All Access, with Season 2 airing between June and July of 2021.“Paramount+ has made the difficult decision not to move forward with Season 3 of ‘Why Women Kill,'” a Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement to Variety.

Fans of Mare of Easttown may not have to wait too much longer for another HBO limited series starring Kate Winslet: The two-time Emmy winner is set to star in and produce an adaptation of Hernan Diaz’s 2022 novel Trust.
