Jenny Han is giving fans some new details about The Summer I Turned Pretty season three.
In a new interview with THR, the author discussed the second season of the Amazon Prime series and hinted at what’s in store for Belly and the gang next season.

Jenny said that while season one followed a “sort of fantasy of summer love,” season two was a wake up call that “nothing lasts forever.”
Season two picks up with Belly (Lola Tung) navigating her shifting relationships with two brothers, Conrad (Chris Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). The trio are also grappling with the loss of Susannah (Rachel Blanchard), Conrad and Jeremiah’s mom.
“I think that one of the themes of the season is that two things can be happening at the same time: You can be really in deep grief, mourning someone that you love, but you could also be having a day at the beach and finding moments where you can be happy as well,” Jenny said of the latest season. “You could be really sad about a loved one passing away, but you can also be sad that a first love is ending, and it doesn’t take away from either of those feelings. They’re both valid emotions to be going through.”
Jenny also opened up about what it was like working on the show and whether she felt pressure to include some of the most anticipated scenes from the book.
“I always want to really satisfy those OG book fans, because I know they’ve been waiting for such a long time to see the story come to life in this way. They’re always at the front of my mind as I’m making these decisions and really wanting to give them a gift. And I know what scenes are important to them, so even when there are changes or tweaks from the books or expansions, I’m always
