Married twice and having two children, tragedy struck Julie back in 1997 when she discovered she had a lesion on her vocal cords. Advised by medics to undergo surgery, she was assured she would still be able to sing in a matter of weeks.
However, that wasn’t the case as she was left with scarred vocal cords. It meant Julie’s ability to sing - something she became famed for courtesy of the Sound of Music - was ruined forever. She filed a lawsuit against the doctors responsible, but hasn’t let the incident stop her working.
