Strictly Come Dancing star Giovani Pernice was overcome with gratitude and excitement after winning the show with partner Rose Ayling-Ellis for the first time on Saturday since he joined as a professional seven years ago. It appears the 31-year-old wasn't the only one left emotional either, as he shared on Sunday night a video of his parents’ elated reactions as they watched their son be announced as Strictly champion from their home in Sicily, Italy.

Rose Ayling-Ellis, the actress who this year became the first deaf contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, is now also the first deaf winner of the British dance competition series, after triumphing in its 19th season.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice were crowned the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 on Saturday night as they took home the Glitterball trophy. During the final, John Whaite and Johannes Radebe and Rose and Giovanni took to the dance floor one last time in a bid to be crowned the champions.

Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice has gushed over his dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis as the couple prepare to appear in the 2021 final. Giovanni, 31, spoke about his life changing experience of working with Rose, 27, on the show, calling it the “most beautiful thing that ever happened in my entire life”.

Strictly’s Gionvanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis got into the Christmas spirit as they had a festive dinner for two. Sharing a video on his Instagram story, Giovanni, 31, and Rose, 27, can be seen wearing paper hats and laughing as they told jokes from their Christmas crackers.

Another series of Strictly Come Dancing is drawing to a close, with the grand final set to take place on Saturday 18 December.
