Meghan Trainor has recalled the terrifying time that her baby son Riley "didn't wake up for a week" following his birth, which she described as "traumatic". Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief Netflix has come on board for the second year to support the Short Film Camp, a film industry training program for professionals from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. The SFC is led by Purin Pictures, a film funding body backed by the Purin Foundation. The event, running for ten days (Dec. 2-12, 2022) in Bangkok, Thailand, will involve 12 teams of directors and producers. The 24 participants will receive mentoring that aims to hone their writing, producing and directing skills. The workshop culminates in a live pitch of their short film projects, where four winners will receive funding and post-production support to produce their short films.

Through the agreement, Bailon-Houghton will pursue unscripted opportunities across NBCU platforms to serve as a host and/or producer across the company’s broadcast, cable, streaming and syndication programming. Bailon-Houghton first broke out as the lead singer of R&B girl group 3LW, then went on to become a founding member of the pop group the Cheetah Girls and starred in the movies “The Cheetah Girls,” “The Cheetah Girls 2” and “The Cheetah Girls: One World.” Other TV and movie credits include “That’s So Raven,” “Raven’s Home,” “All You’ve Got,” “Lovestruck,” “Coach Carter” and “I’m in Love with a Church Girl.” Later in her career she serves as a co-host of “The Real” from 2013 to 2022, which in 2018 earned her a shared Emmy for entertainment talk show host.

Actress Ruth Madeley will co-host a Disney- and ITV-backed performance event at Bafta in London later this month will aim to tackle the lack of representation and opportunity for Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent creatives.

Created by Bridge06 and Hot Coals Productions, the event — entitled About Time! — is positioned as a “call to action” for broadcasters, commissioners, casting agents, producers and agents — key roles that are central to improving the opportunities for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent creative communities. Taking place on Oct. 28 at BAFTA, the event will feature 10 working deaf, disabled and neurodivergent actors, musicians and performers and will be hosted by the BAFTA-nominated “Don’t Take My Baby” actor Ruth Madeley and “Coronation Street” star Cherylee Houston.

On Feb. 11, 2012, the world lost legendary performer Whitney Houston.  Just shy of the 11th anniversary of her death, fans will be reintroduced to Houston through her frequent collaborator and producer Clive Davis, who, along with several others, is releasing a biopic of the star, "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Davis told Fox News Digital, "Up to now, nobody has touched the real person of Whitney."  He was critical of previous projects that tried to tell Houston's story, saying "They've only – depending on their prejudice – it's been the downfall.
