The Railway Children Return trailer dropped on Wednesday giving fans of the classic story a first glimpse of the upcoming film along with the appearance of a recognisable face. In the clip that has been released, Sheridan Smith is seen in the first couple of frames looking almost unrecognisable portraying character Annie in the film.The 40 year old can be seen in the trailer sporting an retro-styled wavy auburn hairdo undeath a maroon hat, whilst wearing an orange blouse, green jacket and grey high waisted skirt.

Sheridan stars in the Studio Canal production alongside Game of Thrones actor John Bradley, as well as BAFTA & Emmy Award-winning actress Jenny Agutter, who returns to her original role as Roberta 'Bobbie' Waterbury in the film.The Railway Children Return is the long-awaited sequel to 1970 film predecessor The Railway Children, and follows children evacuees on their journey from Salford to Yorkshire village Oakworth at the time of the second World War.The film — which is scheduled for a 15 July release date — is not based on the classic novel and instead brings forth a new story stemming on the first film that promises to warm the hearts of viewers on the big screen. HBO has set a June premiere date for Irma Vep, its limited series based on Olivier Assayas’ 1996 feature film, starring Alicia Vikander. Irma Vep, which will world premiere as an Official Selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, will debut on Monday, June 6 at 9 PM on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
