The Pretenders announce surprise set at Glastonbury 2023

The Eagles, one of rock’s most enduring bands, has announced its final tour after more than 50 years on the road, with a Sept. 7 launch at New York’s Madison Square Garden and the tour likely continuing into 2025.

They are taking flight one last time.Popular rock ‘n’ roll band The Eagles announced Thursday that they plan on embarking on a final cross-country tour beginning in September through 2025.“Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed,” the band said in an emotional statement. “But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”  “The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages,” continued the statement, which then goes on to give a bit of the band’s history.

The Eagles have announced a farewell live tour across North America with Steely Dan – find all the details below.The legendary band will begin the run of shows – titled ‘The Long Goodbye’ – at Madison Square Garden in New York on September 7 ahead of further performances in Boston (September 11), Newark (16) and Elmont, New York (20).Resuming in early October, the group’s final tour is then set to visit Denver, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland and Atlanta before additional stop-offs in other cities throughout November.‘The Long Goodbye’ will see The Eagles – comprising Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. The Darkness have announced a new UK and Ireland tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Permission To Land’.The new string of tour dates come following the band’s support slot for Guns N’ Roses at London’s BST Hyde Park, and sees them schedule shows for Glasgow, Manchester, London, Dublin and more.Set to kick off with a show in Belfast on December 2, the tour will consist of nine shows and follows on from previously announced dates across Europe and North America. The Prodigy have been announced as special guests at this year’s Boomtown Festival.The festival, which is based in Winchester, confirmed the news this week (June 29) and said it was the result of a “decade long pursuit” to try and secure the band for the festival.Taking place from August 9-13, The Prodigy will be there for Boomtown’s 15th birthday and will close the “Grand Central Stage” on Sunday evening.The festival tweeted: “@the_prodigy will be at the 15 years of Boomtown celebration.  August 13th they land at Grand Central. Lana Del Rey has announced surprise shows in Ireland and Europe, set to take place next month.Following her appearance at the Other Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday (June 23), Lana Del Rey has announced a series of surprise shows, scheduled for the next few weeks.The three new shows will see the New York singer-songwriter head to Amsterdam first, before performing in Dublin and Paris. They also work around her previously confirmed headline performance at London’s BST Hyde Park next Sunday.“I love Europe and after playing Glastonbury, have decided to play a few more shows in various countries around my Hyde Park Show in London on July 9th,” she said in a new statement.

Paul McCartney was spotted by fans enjoying the sunset on Saturday night (June 24) at Glastonbury 2023.The Beatles legend is on site at Worthy Farm this weekend, with rumours about him making a special guest performance with Guns N’ Roses during their headline set last night.That didn’t materialise – Dave Grohl joined them instead on ‘Paradise City’ – but one fan did spot McCartney soaking up the sun at the top of the Park hill as evening drew in.“A surreal moment amongst an already mad weekend,” the fan wrote. “Walked to the top of the Glastonbury hill for a sunset photo, turns out Paul McCartney had the same idea!”Alongside the caption was a video of McCartney watching the sunset next to an SUV at the top of the bill.

The Hives played an early set on The Other Stage at Glastonbury 2023 today (Friday June 23), pulling in the first massive crowd of the weekend.The Swedish indie icons were first on the stage, which will later see performances from the likes of Krept & Konan, Chvrches, Fred Again.., and headliner Wizkid.After opening with recent single ‘Bogus Operandi’ from upcoming album ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’, frontman Pelle Almqvist told the packed out field: “Put your hands up for The Hives. EXCLUSIVE: Swept Away, the Broadway-aimed musical with music and lyrics by roots rock band The Avett Brothers, has announced principal cast for its fall-winter 2023 production at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., with John Gallagher, Jr. (Spring Awakening), Stark Sands (& Juliet), Adrian Blake Enscoe (TV’s Dickinson), and Wayne Duvall (the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?) will play the four survivors of a whaling ship disaster.
