A judge told two sisters to 'grow up' as they were jailed for framing their brother-in-law for a crime he did not commit.
Helen and Michelle McPartland made up false allegations amid an ongoing family feud, sparked when they were left out of their late mother's will, the Liverpool Echo reports. Victim Graham Potter was wrongly convicted of a criminal offence as a result of their brazen lies, which followed a jibe over a 'tummy tuck'.
The pair wept and wailed in the dock as a judge jailed them and told them some of the feud was 'pathetic'. The judge said the family arguments had gone 'way beyond tit for tat'.

Yesterday (Tuesday), Liverpool Crown Court heard how Michelle McPartland had previously secured a non-molestation order against Mr Potter, the husband of her sister Alicia, banning him from contacting or approaching her.
Christopher Hopkins, prosecuting, described how Mr and Mrs Potter were in Widnes town centre with their dog on August 6 last year and were walking in the direction of Widnes Market when they spotted Helen McPartland's parked car nearby. Mr Potter went into the market, leaving the pet with his wife.
When he returned, they saw 51-year-old Michelle - of Lea Street - walking along the road and decided to leave in the opposite direction as a result of the order he was subject to. They then spotted her again on the other side of the building and returned to where they had started.
The couple walked back past 44-year-old Helen's car at this stage, with Mr Potter reporting that she commented 'the wrong sister died' as they did so. At this, he replied 'did you hear the tummy tuck brigade?'.
