‘The Masked Singer’: Tiki & Husky Talk Their Double Elimination On Rock Night

It was a double elimination night for The Masked Singer, and two contestants got the axe during rock night.
Despite a rendition of “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” that got the audience and the judges going, Husky was first on the chopping block, sending Tiki and Sea Queen into the battle royale. After making it through several rounds of The Masked Singer, it’s hard to believe the artist behind this mask almost declined the chance to perform at all.
“My agent gave me a call and said that they wanted me on the show, and originally I said no,” Ginuwine told Deadline a few hours before his unmasking. Luckily, he had a change of heart.
“I’m pretty much a person [that likes] space to myself,” he said. “So I figured, just come out of your shell and just try something new for change. Because the pandemic really messed a lot of us up in the house for a whole year, especially a lot of artists. I really wasn’t able to connect with people.”
During the show, each contestant revealed a sly connection to one of the judges, but the “Pony” singer hinted at a run in he’d had with host Nick Cannon on his show Wild N Out. Eventually, Robin Thicke was able to put the pieces together.
“I knew they wouldn’t be able to guess right off the bat. But as as time went on, and you have four judges up there, so somebody’s gonna say something. That’s the fun about the show, it’s going to trigger others to say, ‘Oh, yeah, it could be that,'” he said, adding he was “smiling and laughing” behind the mask as the judges tried to figure out his identity.
